Gill Hedge is a potter whose training carries a direct line to Bernard Leach.

Most of my pieces are hand thrown stoneware and porcelain which have been reduction fired in a gas kiln.
I also make raku pottery during the summer months.

I try to encourage glazes to mix during the firing and I am fascinated in learning to control the colour mixes (although serendipity and chance are always present in a reduction firing).

My favourite glazes are influenced by ancient Japanese and Chinese recipes (Chuns, Copper Reds and Tenmoku in particular).
